The FIA ​​has formalized the stages and dates of the new world championship, starting a review of the 2021 calendar in the light of the pandemic that continues to give no certainty around the world.

There are several news: first of all, as usual, the Australian GP has not started, postponed instead to the end of November;

the season is divided into 23 Grand Prix, therefore the longest in history;

in addition, the racing cars will return to Imola for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, the first European stage after their debut in Bahrain.


    The date of the Chinese GP remains to be defined, initially scheduled for May 2, but destined to postpone until after the summer.

For the moment, however, there is no trace of possible news on the presence of the public in the stands, therefore the races will continue to take place as in 2020 behind closed doors, even if the FIA ​​in a note expressed the hope that fans and enthusiasts will soon return in the F1 stands.


    The new president and CEO of the circus, Stefano Domenicali, is very satisfied with the new calendar.

"It was not easy - he said - we are happy to be able to confirm the number of races we had planned. The pandemic is not yet allowing us to return to normal, but we have shown in 2020 that we can race safely and that we have skills and experience. to be able to play our season ".

The manager said he was "happy" to have been able to include the Australian GP on the calendar in November and "we are working with the Chinese authorities to find a solution to compete in 2021, if the situation changes".

Domenicali said he was "very happy to announce the return of the single-seaters to the Imola circuit: we know that the fans are waiting for the return to the track after the winter break in Bahrain. Of course, the situation linked to Covid-19 is fluid, but we have the skills to run safely in 2021 too ".


    The governor of Emilia Romagna, Stefano Bonaccini is also satisfied with the confirmation of the GP in Imola: "we have worked to bring the GP back to Imola regardless of whether or not we can open the doors to the public. The hope is that we can reverse the curve of contagions in a few weeks and hope that some people can even come in to see the Grand Prix. "We hope that by mid-April - concluded the governor - there will also be a timid resumption of entrances, but at this moment the important thing is power to say that we have won the challenge. "We
