In the US state of Virginia, a 12-year-old boy died in a hand grenade that was said to have been bought in a flea market.
It was assumed that it was inactive MK2 grenades, a type of weapon that was used during the Second World War, said the responsible explosives authority.
"At the time of sale, neither the seller nor the buyer believed that the grenades were functional or dangerous."

"Ready at hand" in the backpack: Man arrested with a live hand grenade at Cologne Central Station
After investigating the circumstances of the child who was killed by the explosion two days before Christmas, the agency is now asking for help in finding more potentially live grenades.
They could have been sold at a thrift store in Shallotte, North Carolina, last summer.
There is no number for the live grenades that may have been put on the market; according to the New York Times, sales were made in cash.
It is unclear how exactly the explosion occurred and how the grenade first got on the market and then to the boy.
According to the newspaper, the investigators assume an accident.
