must be careful from now on.
As a goodwill gesture,
DHL is
offering
a transition period for
postage stamps
for
small parcels
.

Change at DHL: Postage stamps will no longer be used to ship parcels from 2021
Previously,
packages could
also be sent with
postage stamps
on them.
Parcel means small
DHL
parcels
weighing less than two kilos.
From January
2021
, postage stamps will no longer be used.
This is what it says on page 69 of the current service overview from DHL.
Accordingly,
stamps
with a value of
3.79 euros were
removed from the
DHL
online shop.
The regulation also applies to
DHL
parcels -
franking
with
postage stamps
is not permitted anyway.

But what do customers do who have already
stocked up on stamps
?
As a goodwill,
DHL announced
on Twitter that a transition period will be offered until June 30, 2021.
Until then, you should still
be able to send
parcels
that
are franked
with
postage stamps
worth
EUR 3.79
or
EUR 4.50
if they are handed in at a post office or in a parcel shop.
What will
happen
to the
stamps
after the deadline has passed is still unclear -
DHL
has not yet commented on this.

Parcel labels can be purchased and printed on the website.
If you don't have a printer, you can have a QR code generated in the app, which you can show at a post office or scan it yourself at a packing station.
There the sticker is finally printed out and attached to the parcel.
The
delivery
of a
parcel
the size M costs 4.39 euros online.
So if
you use a
postage stamp
worth EUR 4.50, you pay more.
This can be avoided
with
online franking
.
You can pay with PayPal, for example.

During this time, parcels that are franked with the postage stamps (EUR 3.79 and EUR 4.50) can still be posted in Deutsche Post branches.
