Netflix is pushing through higher prices in more and more states.
Now users in another country have to pay more.
What the measure means for German users.
Again, many Netflix users have to be prepared for higher prices.
As reported by the BBC, among others, Great Britain is now affected.
There, the streaming service has announced a price increase that will become reality in the next few weeks.
The country is not the first to be affected by these innovations.
Previously,
Netflix
had already raised subscription prices in the USA * and Austria.
A US analyst predicted several months ago that the changes could affect other countries in Europe.
German users seem to be spared at the moment, but they shouldn't feel safe for a long time.
Netflix gave
a specific reason for the increase to
UK subscribers
.
This could also justify more expensive subscriptions in this country.
Netflix increases prices in Great Britain - subscriptions could cost as much in Germany
In all three countries mentioned,
Netflix has increased
the prices by around one or two euros - but only for two subscription models.
For example, the
standard rate
of 8.99 pounds
in Great Britain
rises
to 9.99 pounds.
This corresponds to an increase of around one euro.
The
premium tariff
, however, should cost 11.99 pounds instead of 13.99 pounds, which is about two euros more.
The
basic tariff remained
unchanged
in the three states
.
If there is an increase in Germany, it can be assumed that
Netflix will
also only adjust the standard and premium subscription.
In the future, 12.99 euros to 13.99 euros (standard) and 16.99 euros to 17.99 euros (premium) should be expected.

Netflix gives reasons for price increases
According to the BBC,
Netflix
is said to have
given customers specific reasons for the upcoming price increase.
The streaming service plans to invest a lot of money in the production of British content this year.
In order to be able to support the film teams financially, higher tariffs are necessary: "Our price change reflects the significant investments in our new series and films as well as in the improvement of our product," the BBC quoted a message from
Netflix
.
Series such as “Biohackers” or “Barbaren”, newly released in 2020, show that the platform operators are also showing increased interest in German productions.
Accordingly, the streaming service could also
argue in this country
with
the high costs for in-house productions
from German companies.
It remains to be seen whether this will actually happen.
