The prefect of Ile-de-France resigns from positions held in “establishments” where he “worked with Olivier Duhamel”.

This is a new consequence of the Olivier Duhamel case, targeted by an investigation for rape and sexual assault on a minor.

The prefect of Ile-de-France Marc Guillaume announces this Wednesday that he is resigning from the functions he held in several establishments where he worked with the eminent constitutionalist.

"Having frequented Olivier Duhamel for years, I feel betrayed and absolutely condemn these acts", indicates Marc Guillaume in a brief statement sent to AFP, while assuring that he was "totally" unaware of the charges of incest targeting the university.

Marc Guillaume, former secretary general of the government from 2015 to 2020, is leaving his post on the board of directors of the National Foundation for Political Science (FNSP), headed by Olivier Duhamel.

He also gives up his responsibilities as co-director of the review Pouvoirs, founded by the political scientist, and vice-president of the Siècle, an elitist club also chaired by Olivier Duhamel.

A possible blanket of silence

The affair was triggered by the revelations of Camille Kouchner in his book "La Familia grande" (Ed. Seuil), which denounces the incestuous assaults allegedly imposed by his stepfather, Olivier Duhamel, now 70 years old. , to his twin brother when he was a teenager in the late 1980s.

Since the first leaks on the content of this book, the question has arisen of a possible blanket of silence around the acts of Olivier Duhamel, man of networks and influence.

In this context, calls for resignation targeted the director of Sciences-po, Frédéric Mion, who admitted to having been alerted in 2019.

According to Le Monde, the latter had initially entrusted his intention to warn Marc Guillaume.

Questioned by the daily, Frédéric Mion however denied having done so, arguing that a “secretary general of the government is not responsible for the prevention of sexual crimes”.

"I was totally unaware of the existence of such crimes before the publication of this book and the articles announcing it", abounds Marc Guillaume in his press release.
