At just 38, leaving behind a ten-year-old boy and husband, actress Jessica Campbell has passed away.
She collapsed at her aunt's home in Oregon about a week ago while visiting her with her mother.
Campbell reportedly entered the bathroom and as she failed to get out, her aunt went in and found her unconscious on the floor.
All attempts to revive her failed and her death was determined on the spot by rescue teams who arrived at the scene.
Campbell is best known for her role in the 1999 film Elections or Not to Be, starring Reese Witherspoon, Matthew Broderick and Chris Klein, and also starred in the series "Freaks and Geeks" and the film "Safe Things."
Her cousin confirmed her death to gossip site TMZ, and said that in the hours leading up to her death she complained of flu-like symptoms including difficulty breathing and congestion.
The circumstances of her death have not yet been revealed, and the family is awaiting the findings of the post-mortem.
With her response to the news on her Twitter account, Witherspoon wrote: "I am heartbroken by the news and send my condolences to Jessica's family and relatives."
So heart broken to hear this.
Working with Jessica on Election was such a pleasure.
I'm sending all my love to Jessica's family and loved ones.

The GoFundM page was set up to help with her burial expenses and financial support for her ten-year-old son Oliver, when in May "Freaks and Geeks" director Judd Apatow donated $ 5,000.
