The Stuttgart Regional Court has started the hearing of the most serious allegations to date against alleged participants in the night of the Stuttgart riot.
Two young people, who were 16 and 19 years old at the time of the crime, stand in front of the youth chamber for attempted manslaughter.
The two youths are accused of kicking the head of a student lying on the ground during the riot on the night of June 21.
You should have accepted the death of the man at least approvingly.
According to the public prosecutor's office, he is said to have stood against the rioters and asked them not to throw any more bottles.
The student suffered head trauma as well as bruises and abrasions.
At the beginning of November, the first two rioters in the riots were sentenced to two and a half years in juvenile detention for particularly serious breaches of the peace.
The defense lawyers appealed both cases.
Overall, the courts are expecting up to a hundred trials because of the riots.
The district court set eight days of trial for attempted manslaughter, all of which are non-public.
A verdict could come in March.
