has not been out since Saturday due to a strike by its journalists, its managing director, Jean-Louis Pelé, wishes to explain what justifies his plan to have it accepted.
Owned by the Amaury group, the sports daily must indeed face a structural crisis - that of the paper press - combined with the economic crisis linked to the pandemic, which has put a stop to almost all sports competitions.
“We absolutely have to adapt our operating costs to this environment,”
explains Jean-Louis Pelé to

In 2020, we made a lot of savings, which allowed us to limit operating losses to 5 million euros.
But we will not be able to replicate these savings this year, which mechanically will lead to more losses, ranging between 6 to 10 million until 2024 if we do nothing.
The reduction in the payroll, which represents 60% of our costs, is one of the levers necessary for the recovery
