From Monday, those over 75 who do not reside in nursing homes will be able to be vaccinated. Registrations start this Thursday. Making

From Monday, January 18, the vaccination campaign against Covid-19 enters a new phase: people over 75 who do not live in nursing homes will be able to receive the injection (in Nancy, in Meurthe-et-Moselle this phase started early on Wednesday).

The government wanted to make the process “as simple as possible”.

Here is normally what awaits you if you are concerned, according to the information available on Wednesday evening, in the absence of other details from the Directorate General of Health (DGS).

How to receive your first injection?

Forget the generalist box.

It is in vaccine centers that it will be necessary to go.

Since the start of the week, 300 of them attached to hospitals are ready.

To deploy a total of 600 by the end of the month, that is the announced objective.

For people who are unable to move, "mobile teams will be deployed to vaccinate at home," said Alain Fischer, the government Vaccination.

How to make an appointment?

You can register from this Thursday on several platforms.

Sante.fr will be the official, supported by the private sites Doctolib, Maiia and KelDoc.

A free toll-free number, unveiled during the day, will be used to support your procedures, but not for making appointments.

In addition, a "voucher", such as that for the flu vaccination, will be sent by Health Insurance to all eligible people.

Will we have the choice of the center?

Being able to get vaccinated wherever it suits you is the stated will.

On Wednesday, it was enough to go to the sante.fr site to be able to locate them, as we do for a relay point when we receive a package.

As the two available vaccines require two injections three or six weeks apart, it is expected that you can make both appointments at the same time.

Can we ask for Moderna rather than Pfizer BioNtech?

Impossible to choose.

“Today, we have two validated vaccines, two messenger RNA vaccines of the same type with the same efficacy, the same indications.

There is no need to ask the question of choice, ”explained the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran.

However, the two injections should be given with the same brand, which is what good vaccination practice requires.

Do you need to have your Vitale card?

It is better.

Once there, even if the injection is free, the patient will have to fill in his name, age, place of birth, social security number and describe his state of health.

In view of certain medical history, such as anaphylactic shock or hypersensitivity to certain elements present in the vials, the doctor who welcomes you may advise you not to be vaccinated.

You also have to wait at least three weeks after the flu vaccine to receive the one against Covid-19.

Will we be stuck?

Yes and no.

As soon as you accept the vaccination, you will automatically appear in a large file called “Si vaccine Covid” (Covid vaccine information system).

Your identity, the date, the hospital or center where you received your injection, the batch number of the vaccine, the name of the caregiver, everything will be written there.

Co-managed by the DGS and the Health Insurance, this file allows the health authorities to pilot the campaign, to know, for example, from day to day when there is a shortage of lots or syringes or to be able to warn patients if it is observed that the vaccines administered carry new risks.

It is only if you refuse the vaccination that you can demand that your name, pre-registered automatically in this database, be erased.

This is the framework to which the National Commission for Informatics and Freedoms (Cnil) has ensured so that we cannot one day find ourselves labeled as a "bad citizen" in the fight against the epidemic.
