A cinematic show, or rather, a theatrical film, or perhaps an experimental short film, or even a digital drama.
The right term to define 'Kotekino riff ... On air', written and performed by Andrea Cosentino, is not there.
The actor and playwright, former Ubu 2018 Special Award, chooses to rework one of his shows in a cinematic way, making fun of both the stage and the big (and small) screen.
It is not theater on TV, not just a short film or even the streaming of an opera, but something new that goes beyond the numerous attempts to bring theater to video, demonstrating that contamination is possible and usable especially if faced with a good dose of irony.
The 23-minute experiment is produced by the production company Tfilm and is directed by Silvia Luzi and Luca Bellino, directors of the award-winning film Il Cratere, presented at the Venice Film Festival in 2017. With this experiment, Cosentino continues its research and reworking of languages creating, thanks to the tricks of cinema, a format that ranges from avant-garde cabaret, from American sit-coms to muppet shows, with an ad hoc soundtrack and a direction that chooses to dissect the screen by incorporating animated objects and more or less aware spectators.
A work intended for theaters, television channels and digital platforms that will have its preview on Sunday 17 January at 9 pm in the virtual space of the Concentric review in collaboration with Spazio Kor in Asti.
At the end of the screening, the public will interact with the author and directors through the zoom platform.
