Bank of Italy: November debt stable at 2,587 billion

In November, the public debt remained almost stable compared to the previous month, amounting to 2,586.5 billion euros. In October, the debt had hit a record 2,586.971 billion. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - ROME, JANUARY 15 - In November the public debt remained almost stable compared to the previous month, amounting to 2,586.5 billion euros.

In October, the debt had hit a record 2,586.971 billion.

This was announced by Bankitalia in the publication 'Public Finance', specifying that the stake held by Via Nazionale was 21.2% at the end of November (0.4 percentage points more than in the previous month).


    The average residual life of the debt remained stable compared to October, at 7.4 years. In November, as specified in the publication, a further tranche (6.5 billion) of the loans envisaged under the European temporary support instrument was disbursed to mitigate the risks of unemployment in an emergency; at the end of the month the loans disbursed by the European institutions to our country totaled 16.5 billion.
