At the end of January 2020, Petra F. turned 54 years old.
She celebrated with friends, and her son Felix also came by.
He seemed to be comfortable and stayed until the early hours of the morning.
This is what his mother later described in court.
Felix even talked about future plans.
Not a matter of course for a boy like him.
The relationship with him is not easy, says Petra F., "shaped by a closeness-distance conflict".
This is how she explained to herself that she would not be able to reach Felix from March onwards.
That he didn't respond to calls, not WhatsApp messages.
And not even when she knocked on his apartment door worriedly.
Nine months later she sees him again in room 134 of the Hildesheim regional court.
She is sitting in the witness chair, her 22-year-old son in the dock, the allegations sound drastic: preparation for a serious, state-endangering act of violence.
Terrorist financing.
Rabble-rousing.
Threat.
Felix F. is said to have planned an attack on a mosque, similar to the bloodshed in Christchurch, New Zealand, when Brenton Tarrant murdered 51 people.
F. has indicted the Central Office for Combating Terrorism of the Public Prosecutor's Office in Celle.
From their point of view, the unemployed is a typical representative of modern right-wing terrorism.
But is it really that?
Or did the investigators find a gossip and agitator who only wanted to let go of frustration over his own insignificance?
