(ANSAmed) - BELGRADE, JANUARY 16 - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has announced that he will be vaccinated against coronavirus in 7-8 days with the Chinese vaccine that arrived in the country today.
"I did not want to be among the first to vaccinate myself to avoid people saying, here we wanted to make him safe first," Vucic told reporters at the Belgrade airport, where this morning he greeted the plane with a million Chinese vaccine .
It is important, he added, that the most elderly are the first to be vaccinated, who are the category most exposed to contagion risk.
Vucic then confirmed that the health minister, Zlatibor Loncar, will also take the Chinese vaccine.
The Serbian authorities are agreed to take different vaccines to prove that they are all of good quality, effective and safe.
In particular, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic was vaccinated with Pfizer-BioNtech, as well as the Minister of Labor.
Parliament President and former Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic took the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, along with Interior Minister Aleksandar Vulin.
