Music producer Phil Spector, known as the developer of the "Sound Wall" recording technique, passed away last night (Saturday) at the age of 81. This while serving a life sentence since 2009, for a murder he committed in 2003. 

His death was confirmed in an official statement from the California Department of Rehabilitation and Recovery, which states that Spector died "at an outpatient hospital."

The official cause of his death is not yet known at this stage, but according to reports abroad, it is a complication of the corona virus. The patients, where his death was determined.  

Spector began his musical career in the 1950s, as part of the Teddy Bears band that enjoyed some success.

He became famous in the 1960s and gained fame as a music producer, working with legends such as the Beatles, Tina Turner, Leonard Cohen, Yoko Ono and the Ramones. 

His greatest contribution to the field of music production was reflected in "Wall of Sound", a recording method he perfected at Gold Star Studios in Los Angeles.

It is based on a recording of several layers of audio channels, which created a full, orchestral and rich sound.

Spector "stacked" layers of guitar, bass and keyboards on top of each other, merging them into one sound.

This method was his fingerprint and made him one of the most sought after producers in the world music industry during the 60s and 70s. 

Among other things, he has produced iconic albums like the Beatles' "Let It Be";

George Harrison's solo album "All Things Must Pass";

John Lennon's solo album "Lennon / Plastic Ono Band" and "Imagine";

Death "of A Ladies' Man" by Leonard Cohen and others.

He is considered one of the most legendary and groundbreaking rock 'n' roll producers in the history of music, and has signed dozens of albums and famous works in the field.

During the 80s and 90s the fund dropped and it became less and less in demand.

Both due to the obsolescence of the sound associated with it and due to its problematic character and temperament.

He was known as an eccentric type addicted to drugs and alcohol, who used to quarrel, sometimes to the point of provocation, with the musicians he worked with.

In early 2003, the body of actress Lena Clarkson was found in his home.

At the end of a long and cumbersome legal process that lasted six years, Spector was found guilty of her death and sentenced to serve a life sentence.
