Phil Spector, one of the most famous producers in the history of rock music, died of complications related to Covid: the website Tmz reports, citing informed sources. Spector, who was 80, was serving a sentence ranging from a minimum of 19 years to life in prison for the murder of Lara Clarkson. He produced his first hit when he was still in high school, 'To Know Him is to Love Him', and tied his name to classic songs like 'Be my baby', 'Unchained melody', until he was involved in the production of 'Let it Well the Beatles. New Yorker and of Russian descent, inventor of the Wall of Sound music production technique, Spector in his long career has worked with the likes of Tina Turner, John Lennon, Leonard Cohen and the Ramones. He also worked on the release of Let It Be, the latest Beatles album and in 1989 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Rolling Stone magazine ranked him 64th in its ranking of the 100 best artists of all time
