As you may recall, Affleck (48) and De Armes (32) met on an erotic thriller photo shoot starring the two, so romantic and even family photos (with Affleck's children) were not long in coming to the gossip columns and it seemed that this couple was actually going to beat the statistics.

So it is, no, and Hollywood was struck by astonishment when the gossip sites announced that the two had decided to separate.

"They are in different places in their lives," an acquaintance of the two said. "De Armes did not see herself committing to living in Los Angeles where Affleck lived in order to be close to his children."
