A spectacular eruption is underway on Etna with two lava arms emerging from the summit area of the highest active volcano in Europe. The Ingv of Catania reports this. The first 'arm' emerges from the South-East crater and heads towards the desert Valle del Bove and reaches a height of about 2,900 meters above sea level. A second lava overflow was detected from the north side of the same crater. There is intense Strombolian activity. The amplitude of the volcanic tremor is maintained on high values, together with that of the infrasonic tremor. The data of the Gps network of Etna do not show significant changes. The phenomena are confined to the summit area of Etna, but are also visible from Catania and Taormina.
