Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said today (Monday) that the closure may be extended, but "for a short and limited period."

During a visit to the United Health Fund in Beit Shemesh, Netanyahu added that the decision would be made tomorrow, at a cabinet meeting.

This, against the background of the Ministry of Health's request to extend the closure for at least another week.

"Tomorrow we will hold a cabinet meeting on the Corona issue. The mutation is raging around the world and countries are talking about a closure until April, this is not the case here. But we may need another limited short period, we will decide tomorrow. We are on the way to a great victory," Health Minister Yuli Edelstein.

Regarding the morbidity of those coming from abroad, he said: "Last night I had a discussion with the ministers of health and transport.

I immediately ordered the promotion of corona checks to all those entering Israel and further tightening of flights entering and leaving Israel. "This is against the background of Edelstein's allegations that Attorney General Mandelblit is monitoring the approval of those checks. Just last week.

The prime minister added: "I appeal to the ultra-Orthodox public: go get vaccinated. The vaccine saves lives. Only together can we defeat the corona."

This is against the background of the corona commissioner in the ultra-Orthodox sector, Maj. Gen. Roni Noma, that the rate of positives in the sector is about 22% compared to about 9% in the general sector and against the relatively low response to vaccinations in ultra-Orthodox localities.

Netanyahu commented on the vaccination campaign: "I held a conference today with seven leading heads of state on the Corona issue. They congratulated us on our huge vaccination campaign. They admired not only the vaccinations but also the funds and the demand for vaccines here. "It will lead to the establishment of an international corporation for the research and production of vaccines for viruses and future epidemics. Enthusiastic enthusiasm has been recorded from wall to wall."
