2021-01-18T17:34:56.615Z

Camels are considered sluggish and slow - not dangerous. For a zoo keeper from Brandenburg, however, the work in the enclosure for the bump animals ended with serious injuries.

A keeper in a zoo in Perleberg, northern Brandenburg, was bitten in the face by a camel.

"The zookeeper looked after the camel, cleaned the enclosure and fed the animals," said a police spokesman.

Suddenly the animal turned around and bitten.

The 54-year-old suffered a bite injury under one eye.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.

The police spokesman could not say how serious the animal keeper's injury was.
