Online dating sites also decided to follow the lead of other tech platforms and clean up their users who would participate in the assault on the Capitol.

As reported by the Washington Post, Tinder, Bumble, Ok Cupid and the big American dating sites are putting out a series of users guilty of participating in the pro-Trump rally.

"We ban any content that promotes terrorism or racial hatred - writes Bumble in a tweet - we have already removed all users who have been confirmed as participants in the attack on the United States Capitol".

"We will continue to ban any user wanted by the FBI for national terrorism from all of our brands and always cooperate with law enforcement in their investigation," a spokesperson for Match, the company representing Tinder, told the post.

This app's move has a precedent in 2017 when OKCupid banned for life a neo-Nazi who attended the Charlottesville rally, in which a woman died.

The ban and hunt for a technology platform for the Capitol rioters is just the latest in a long list that starts on Twitter and includes Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat, Apple, Google, Amazon and even the Airbnb hotel booking platform, just for name a few.

And it has opened a great debate, in the United States and around the world, about the power of big tech companies.
