A person died in a fire in a nursing home in Berlin-Kladow.
Three people were seriously injured and ten were slightly injured, the fire department announced in the evening on Twitter.
The fire is under control.
Around 140 rescue workers are in action.
A resident's room on the first floor was completely burned out, said a spokesman.
According to the fire department, it was difficult for those in need of care to get out of the building because of the dense smoke.
