(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 20 - James Patterson has been declared the best-selling author in the world in the last decade: according to Nielsen BookScan data, from 2010 to 2019 James Patterson has sold 84 million units in print and e-book format in the world , making him the best-selling author of the past ten years.
This was revealed by a note from the Longanesi publishing house that publishes it in Italy.
One book out of seven in the suspense / thriller category was written by him but his prolificacy is not only linked to this genre: James Patterson is in fact the only author to have sold more than a million copies in the categories of the classifications considered: Fiction for adults, Young Adult and Fiction for Boys.
Always committed to promoting reading, Patterson has donated millions of books over the years to schools and the military in the United States and over $ 70 million to support education and encourage reading.
"The Family Lawyer," his latest novel, reached # 1 on the New York Times bestseller list, becoming Patterson's 100th title to reach # 1.
