ROME - As part of the collaboration agreement between the Fraud Repression Inspectorate of the Ministry of Agriculture (Icqrf) and Sogin, the Nuclear Plant Management Company, the operational procedures for research relating to the origin of the agricultural and agri-food products.
This is a step forward in the experimental research of nuclear derivation techniques that the two bodies are starting to codify radiochemical techniques through the use of specific radionuclides for the traceability of agri-food products.
Specifically, the presence of the natural radioisotopes of the different territories will be identified by determining their concentration in some food samples, in order to obtain a unique fingerprint indicating the place of origin of the analyzed product.
