(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 21 - There are 14,078 new cases of Covid in Italy in the last 24 hours, for a total of 2,422,728 since the beginning of the emergency.
The increase in victims, according to data from the Ministry of Health, is 521, which brings the overall number to 84,202.
According to the bulletin, there are 516,568 positives in Italy, down by 6,985 compared to Wednesday, while those recovered and discharged from the beginning of the pandemic are 1,827,451, with an increase of 20,519.
On the other hand, 2,418 patients are hospitalized in intensive care, down by 43 in the balance between entries and exits, while 22,045 patients are hospitalized in the ordinary wards, down by 424 units compared to Wednesday. The tests for the coronavirus (molecular and antigenic) were a total of 267,567, in heat compared to yesterday. The positivity rate is 5.2%, up from 4.9% on Wednesday. As for the regions, Lombardy is still the one with the highest number of new cases of Covidin Italy: 2,234 in the last 24 hours. Six other regions exceed a thousand cases in one day: Emilia Romagna (1,320), Lazio (1,303), Puglia (1,275), Sicily (1,230), Campania (1,215) and Veneto (1,003) (ANSA).
