Memories of the Belìce earthquake, open air 'Visual paths' in Montevago

PALERMO, - It was inaugurated on the occasion of the 53rd anniversary of the earthquake that devastated Belìce in 1968, the open-air museum "Percorsi visual" set among the ruins of the old center of Montevago.

It is an initiative of the cultural association "La Smania Addosso" with the patronage of the Enit-Agenzia Nazionale del Turismo, the Municipality of Montevago, the Presidency of the Ars and the Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment of the Sicilian Region.


    "Percorsi Visivi" is a space that will host creative workshops, cultural and food and wine events, exhibitions and works by contemporary artists. The first artists who inaugurated the path enriching it with murals and paintings are: Ligama Pascal Catherine, Bruno D'Arcevia and Patrick Ray Pugliese. The project is the focal point of a redevelopment of the area of ​​the old center of Montevago, of the architecture and of the persistent ruins in the area that the municipal administration has set out to bring back to life so that they become new heritage for the town, spaces for creativity and artistic production as well as an opportunity for social and tourist development.
