Because of the corona pandemic, more and more people want to move to the countryside.
A study shows in which districts this is financially worthwhile.
The Corona crisis gave
home office
the necessary boost: More and more people are moving their workplaces to their own four walls in order to protect themselves and others from being infected with Covid-19.
Now it has even been decided to make home office compulsory * in order to get the infection numbers with the corona virus under control.
Those who work from home don't necessarily have to live in the city, close to their employer.
And so many consider moving to the country, where the
cost of living such as rent, transport or food are supposedly still low
.
A study by the
Stepstone
job portal
shows where moving to the countryside is really worthwhile - and in which cities you can safely stay.
Berlin, Hamburg, Munich - it's worth moving to these districts
If you work in
Berlin
, it is worth moving to the neighboring
district of Oder-Spree.
The average salary (52,495 euros gross) is only slightly below that of Berlin (54,388 euros gross).
At the same time, the cost of living is more affordable than in the capital (2,015 euros per month).
This results in
around 610 euros a
month - more than twice as much as in Berlin.
Also
Hamburg
should consider a move to the country considered: In the
district of Stade
, the average salary is indeed about 10 percent lower than in Hamburg, but workers remain month still
around 243 euros more
than the inhabitants of the Hanseatic city.
There
is no end to the rental madness
in
Munich
.
The above-average salary in the metropolis on the Isar cannot make up for that.
The same applies to the district of Munich.
However, if you move your residence to the
Freising district
, you can actually still benefit financially: Here employees remain at least
490 euros a
month from their monthly
wages
.

In these cities, moving to the countryside is not worthwhile
Those who
live and work
in
Leipzig
, on the other hand, should stay there: With 760 euros a month, Leipzig residents have a comparatively large amount of money at their disposal at the end of the month.
In the surrounding area, on the other hand, it looks much worse: Both in the
district of North Saxony
and in the
Burgendland district
, the salary is significantly lower and the cost of living is even higher.
Even for employees from
Dortmund
or
Essen
, moving to the country is not worthwhile, which is due to the low rents.
