Recall of finger paints: company explicitly warns against use
The company Iden announced via the
product call-backs.de
portal
that a dangerous
hospital
germ had been found
during controls of the blue color
.
This affects cans with the batch number 18-03-119 / 2020-01.
The products from the delivery can be recognized by their
red and white packaging
.
Products from newer deliveries (with black and yellow packaging) are not affected.
Recall: hospital germ can lead to sepsis
According to the company, the Pseudomonas aerugionosa germ was found during a routine check of the blue color.
The rod bacterium is a widespread water and soil germ that particularly likes to be in damp environments such as sinks or dishwashers.
The germ is particularly widespread in hospitals and is responsible for around a tenth of all infections there.
If the pathogen usually causes less severe inflammation, for example on the outer ear or in wounds, the bacterium is particularly dangerous for people with a weakened immune system.
In the worst case, an infection can lead to pneumonia, urinary tract and wound infection or bloodstream infection (sepsis).
It becomes particularly dangerous if the germ enters the body through an artificial access, for example through an injection needle.
Recall: Even healthy people are at risk when using it
The company states that consumption of the
finger paints
is very unlikely due to the bitter substance contained in the product.
Nevertheless, there is a risk that paint particles could get into the body through open wounds while playing.
Even in healthy people, safe use of
finger paints
cannot be guaranteed, reports hna.de *.
Customers who have bought affected products should either return them to retailers
or
contact
the wholesaler directly at
m.funk@iden.de
.
Although the company did not officially offer a reimbursement of the purchase price, one can still
assume a reimbursement
in these cases, according to
Produktrueckätze.de
.
In addition, research by the portal shows that the products have been sold to numerous trading companies and therefore “
it can be assumed that they will be
affected nationwide
”.
