Against all odds: The most severe corona patient pregnant in Israel was treated at Hadassah until she recovered and gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

Noa Oz Ari from Modi'in Illit was evacuated to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in August, with a high fever and significant breathing difficulties.

After two days her medical condition deteriorated and the staff had to anesthetize and feminize her.

Noa, 42, was out of breath for a long time when she was pregnant.

Recently, Noa was released to her home after recovering from a corona, in the eighth month of her pregnancy, happy with the miracle that happened to her.

These days joy has taken on a double meaning when she gave birth to her daughter Hoodia.

"Everything happened quickly and it was a difficult time for all of us," Noa recalls.

"I was anesthetized and respirated for seven weeks, after which I was hospitalized for a long time. I was really between life and death, and it's a miracle that I'm alive and embracing a baby today."

Dr. Assaf Schwartz, Senior Physician in the Second Department of Internal Medicine and the Corona Intensive Care Unit: “Noa arrived at the hospital due to breathing difficulties and high fever due to the Corona virus.

After two days, her condition deteriorated and it was necessary to feminize her in order to give her and the fetus in her womb a chance to live.

Noa was already in advanced pregnancy and the family wanted us to do as much as we could to keep him, and so we did.

She was anesthetized and respirated and every few days underwent fetal follow-up to verify the pregnancy and the condition of the fetus, "Dr. Schwartz noted.

"Her rehabilitation procedure was another challenge on the way to her exit home, but fortunately she overcame all obstacles with the help of a skilled and professional medical staff, a supportive and enveloping family who did not give up, and a strong will to recover."

Anat Hertz, a social worker in the Corona ward, who accompanied Noa and her family: "There are few cases in which we have had such a long and intense follow-up with the patient and her family, which is why we became so connected. .

Noa, who is recovering from the birth, concluded that "the fears of the birth and my ability to give birth have accompanied me at every moment since I opened my eyes. This staff at Hadassah Hospital saved my life."
