Twitter blocked
the US Chinese embassy account
for a post defending Beijing's policies in Xinjiang, which the social platform said violated its anti-"dehumanization" policies.
In recent days, the account of the diplomatic representation (@ChineseEmbinUS)
had published a post stating that ethnic Uyghurs were no longer "machines for children"
, citing a study by the state newspaper China Daily.
The tweet was removed from the Californian company and replaced by a label relating to its unavailability.
The Chinese embassy in the US, which has not yet commented on the story, has not published new tweets since January 9. The suspension of his account matured a few days after the one decided against former US president Donald Trump, who counted 88 million of followers, citing the risk of violence after his supporters stormed the Capitol. Twitter blocked Trump's account, demanding the deletion of some tweets, before restoring it and then removing it entirely after the former president violated the platform's policies again.
