Deep "Goran" has brought stormy weather to parts of Germany.

And on Friday the next low comes with »Hakim«.

Particularly in the west, southwest and central Germany, there is a risk of individual squalls again, as the German Weather Service (DWD) predicted in Offenbach.

"The low pressure areas are currently pushing the handle," said meteorologist Marcel Schmid.

Overturned trees and signs

In North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony in particular, the fire brigade and police have already had to go on numerous missions.

The strong wind knocked over trees and signs, rubbish bins were thrown around and buildings were damaged.

Rail traffic on the ICE route between Cologne and Amsterdam was also affected.

Because of fallen trees between Oberhausen and Emmerich on the Lower Rhine, trains were diverted and some were 45 minutes late.

Several weather-related traffic accidents were reported from Lower Saxony.

In the East Frisian district of Aurich, a smaller truck was hit by a squall and thrown into the ditch, as a police spokeswoman said.

The driver was slightly injured.

In Groß Berßen in Emsland, an empty bus got caught in a gust of wind.

The driver lost control and went off the road.

The DWD registered the highest wind speeds in Lower Saxony on Thursday on the North Sea island of Spiekeroog with 104 and in Diepholz with 102 kilometers per hour.

In North Rhine-Westphalia, the DWD recorded a wind speed of 100 km / h in Geilenkirchen near the border with the Netherlands.

Thousands of people in the UK are forced to leave their homes

“Goran” also left its mark in Great Britain.

The storm brought heavy rain and snowfall in the Greater Manchester area and north Wales.

"Dangerously high water levels" were measured on several rivers, it said.

Thousands of people left their homes and apartments on Thursday night due to the risk of flooding.

The storm led to numerous accidents in the northern areas of Norway and Sweden.

In many regions in Norway the power went out because trees buckled under the snow load and fell onto cables.

Numerous ferries were stopped.

People were asked not to leave their homes until Friday noon.

In the Swedish province of Norrbotten, train traffic is to be completely stopped from Friday morning to Sunday evening.

It is feared that the trains could get stuck in the masses of snow, it was said by the railway companies.

Mild temperatures remain

In Germany, on Friday night, stormy gusts or individual gusts of wind are expected in the southwest, west and in the middle, as the DWD announced.

There can be heavy gusts of wind on mountain peaks, on the North Sea and due to foehn on the Alps.

Hurricane gusts are also possible on some peaks.

On Friday it will be mostly friendly in the southeast.

In the south-west it can rain in some areas, the last drops also fall in the east.

Individual showers are expected near the North Sea.

According to the forecasts, the sky in the north and east will loosen up from noon.

It remains very mild.

The maximum values are between four and twelve degrees, in the extreme southwest at 14 degrees.

The wind slowly subsides in the course of the day and it only remains stormy in the mountains and on the coast.
