Actor Gael García Bernal's father dies at 62

, died at dawn this Friday after fighting for several years against pulmonary fibrosis that recently declined his health.

, a partner of the former actor and theater director, made the sad news known through social networks.

"In paradise you are my love, my heaven, my life. In our Avalon we will meet again, my everything. I love you forever and ever, my teacher, the love of my life," he wrote on Facebook with a photo in which they appear together.

According to an interview that the actress and model gave to the Mexican program 'Ventaneando' in recent days, José Ángel's health condition had been complicated after he gave him a urinary infection, something that also damaged his lungs. 

"Since we returned from Cancun, he already had a small infection in the urinary tract, so it was complicated by a problem that he has called idiomatic pulmonary fibrosis and it was complicated by this situation," he said.

"He had not brought him to the hospital because there were no ambulances, and we wanted to see if he would evolve with the care and treatment that they sent him," he added.

The reactions to this unfortunate news were immediate, and one of them came from the National Association of Actors (ANDA), which expressed its condolences on social networks.

De la Vega had been communicating the progress of the Mexican actor and director's health.

Still a day before the death, he highlighted on his Facebook account that the doctors wanted to transfer José Ángel to a COVID-19 unit even though his tests were negative.

José Ángel García was an actor and director of theater and television in Mexico.

He began his career when he was 14 years old with appearances on various soap operas.

As a director he was in charge of the soap operas 'La Fuerza del Destino', 'Libre Para Amarte' and 'Mujer de Madera'.

So far Gael García Bernal has not commented on social networks about the death of his father.
