The number of new cases of Covid-19 continues to increase. Just like the number of hospitalizations and intensive care.

While the early curfew at 6 p.m. has been in place for almost a week, the coronavirus epidemic continues to progress in France, with 23,292 cases in 24 hours and 323 additional deaths.

According to figures from Public Health France published this Friday evening, there are 2,902 people in intensive care, or 36 more than yesterday.

A figure that has been rising slightly but steadily since January 9.

In 24 hours, 23,292 people were detected positive for Covid-19.

As for people hospitalized for coronavirus infection, their number continues to remain above 25,000 people with 25,872 patients in French hospitals this Friday evening, according to Public Health France.

They were 173 less yesterday.

This Friday, 1,861 new entries were registered.

A figure that has not fallen below the 24,000 hospitalized since October 31, while the country was going to reconfigure itself to stem the second wave of the pandemic.

The bar of 72,000 victims exceeded

As for deaths, Public Health France has identified 72,651 since the start of the epidemic, including 323 recorded in the last 24 hours in hospital and 330 in recent days in nursing homes.

Thursday, 358 deaths had been recorded.

The vaccination campaign now seems to have reached a cruising speed.

"Now open to all people over 75 and vulnerable people at very high risk," recalls the Ministry of Health, it saw 139,672 people get vaccinated this Friday.

According to the latest figures provided today, 963,139 people have been vaccinated in France since December 27.

Invited last night on the 8 p.m. TV news on TF1, Olivier Véran, Minister of Solidarity and Health, said he expected "probably 1.3 to 1.4 million" people to be vaccinated at the end of January, or more than the million announced.
