In the period 30 December 2020 - 12 January 2021, the
mean
transmissibility index
Rt
calculated on symptomatic cases was equal
to 0.97
(range 0.85-1.11), decreasing
after five weeks of growth
.
It can be read in the monitoring draft of the Higher Institute of Health-Ministry of Health.
There is
a "decrease in the risk of an uncontrolled
and unmanageable
epidemic
in the country mainly due to a decrease in the probability of transmission of SARS-CoV-2 but in a context in which the impact on health services remains high in most of the Regions / PPAA ".
Overall, there are
four Regions / PPAAs
with a
high risk
classification
(vs 11 the previous week);
11 with moderate risk
(including five at high risk of high risk progression in the next few weeks) and
six at low risk
.
Two Regions / PPAA (Sicily and Puglia) have a punctual Rt greater than 1 even in the lower limit, therefore compatible with a type 2 scenario. The others have a punctual Rt compatible with a type one scenario.
A Region (Umbria) and an Autonomous Province (Bolzano) were classified at High risk for the third consecutive week;
"this provides for specific measures to be adopted at the provincial and regional level".
The
Lombardy
would have ended in the red zone on the basis of data that the region has sent to the Director of Cabin last week and in the last hour would have rectified.
This is what is learned from two different qualified sources according to which the data of last week, once analyzed by the ISS, were validated by the Region itself.
With a note yesterday, the Region had announced that it had sent a series of "additional data" to "expand and strengthen the standard data transmitted in the previous week".
Based on the latest monitoring, Lombardy has an average Rt of 0.82 (0.78-0.87).
The governor
Attilio Fontana
then intervened
: "Lombardy must be placed in the orange zone. This is evidenced by the data examined by the control room, still assembled. We have always provided correct information.
In Rome they must stop slandering Lombardy
to cover their own shortcomings ", adds the governor.
There are
12 Regions / PPAAs
that have an employment rate in
intensive care
and / or medical areas
above the critical threshold
(same number as the previous week).
The employment rate in intensive care at the national level, on the other hand, fell below the critical threshold (30%).
The epidemic remains in a delicate phase
, reads the draft monitoring, and a
new rapid increase in the number of cases in the coming weeks is possible
, if
mitigation measures
are not
strictly maintained
both at national and regional level.
In fact, this trend at a national level underlies strong inter-regional variations with some regions where the absolute number of hospitalized patients in the critical area and the relative impact, together with the high incidence, nevertheless impose incisive restrictive measures.
