The crisis complicates annual interviews

Between partial activity and overinvestment, the assessment of employees by their managers promises to be complex.


It is not a compulsory figure, but in the majority of companies the month of January generally rhymes with annual assessment interview.

This meeting, intended to take stock of the work accomplished over the past twelve months, is approached with more or less apprehension, both by employees and managers.

And this year, in a context of unprecedented health crisis, the exercise promises to be particularly perilous.

Barrier gestures oblige, many interviews will take place through interposed screens, a constraint that must be mastered even if videoconferencing is currently becoming a sort of routine.

The Ministry of Labor, aware of this additional difficulty, also published an ordinance at the beginning of December to authorize the postponement until June 30, 2021 of professional interviews, which are mandatory every two years.
