Her appearance was considered by many to be the climax of Joe Biden's inauguration: Amanda Gorman, the USA's first “National Youth Poet Laureate” (for example: national youth poet), wowed the audience with her poem “The Hill We Climb” on Wednesday.
After praise from celebrities like Michelle Obama, the 22-year-old can now look forward to other confirmation.
Two of her books are at the top of the bestselling charts at the internet retailer Amazon.
"I'm flabbergasted, my books are number 1 and 2 on Amazon after a day," wrote Gorman on Twitter.
The books are two volumes of poetry: Gorman's debut collection “The Hill We Climb” and the follow-up volume “Change Sings: A Children's Anthem”.
Both books have not yet been published and can only be pre-ordered so far.
On Friday night Gorman also announced that the poem "The Hill We Climb" was now also available in a hardcover special edition.
