In the UK, a 26-year-old has been sentenced to life in prison for luring another man through a dating app and then killing him with a drug overdose.

The perpetrator has to spend at least 32 years behind bars for murder, as a court in the city of Croydon south of London ruled.

The sentence for his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend is to be announced at a later date.

The couple had texted gay men on the Grindr dating app to overwhelm them, rob them and empty their accounts.

Larger amount of scopolamine administered

Shortly before the murder of the 43-year-old dance teacher in the summer of 2019, the couple had anesthetized another man with so-called knockout drops.

It stole the wallet, credit cards, and two laptops.

In this case, the victim survived and was later able to identify the perpetrator.

Fingerprints finally convicted the two of the murder of the man from Ireland,

According to the British news agency PA, the now convicted had given his victim a larger amount of scopolamine, presumably using a coke can.

The drug, which can be obtained from nightshade plants, is notorious as a rape drug.

After the murder, the couple allegedly tried to purchase $ 80,000 worth of diamonds from a New York jeweler.
