She was known for her role as Danielle Rousseau in the adventure series "Lost".

In the science fiction series "Babylon 5" in the 1990s she played the ambassador Delenn, a woman who connected two peoples - humans and the alien Minbari.

On January 20, the actress Mira Furlan died at the age of 65.

According to Croatian media reports, Furlan succumbed to an infection with the West Nile virus.

Furlan was born in Zagreb in what was then Yugoslavia in 1955.

After studying acting at the University of Zagreb, she became an ensemble member at the Croatian National Theater.

In addition to stage appearances, she also worked for the cinema.

She starred in Emir Kusturica's hit film "Papa is on a business trip", which won the Cannes Golden Palm in 1985 and was nominated for an Oscar abroad.

When civil war broke out in Yugoslavia in 1991, she emigrated to the USA with her husband, the film and television director Goran Gajić.

What she previously achieved as a stage actress, the producer of the series »Babylon 5«, J. Michael Straczynski, remembers: »She was part of a theater group that crossed wide borders in the breaking country, even though she received death threats from both sides." When he admired her courage, she waved it off.

“Yes, they could have killed me.

So what?

Art should have no limits. "

The official Twitter account Furlans published a quote from the actress on the news of her death.

"I look at the stars," it says.

“The night is clear and the Milky Way seems so close.

I will go there soon.

'We're all star stuff.' That line from Delenn from Joe's script suddenly comes to mind.

Not a bad View.

I'm not afraid."
