"We should not incur 10 years in prison just for making people dance!"
Kahoura, an 18-year-old temporary worker, has it all.
Like her, several hundred people demonstrated this Saturday afternoon in Rennes (Île-et-Vilaine) to defend the "free parties".
This gathering was organized three weeks after the rave of Lieuron, about fifty kilometers away.
It brought together 2,400 people for two days for the transition to the new year, against all the rules put in place against the Covid-19 epidemic.
“We are here to show that we will not let this happen… but peacefully!
»Testifies Florian, a 24-year-old cook who was at the Lieuron party, like many others this Saturday.
The police counted 800 demonstrators - including opponents of the comprehensive security law.

"It's been 30 years that free parties exist and 30 years that they are repressed", regrets Florian, who says to have been fined three times during the New Year's party.
Among the demonstrators, some danced to the sound of techno music, while others held up signs "Hardcore is good for the body", "Who sows repression, reaps RAVEolution" or "Open theaters, not our eyebrow arches ”.
Demonstrations all over France
A week ago, at the same place in the city, a similar demonstration in support of free parties was organized.
Under the watchful eye of the police, says Ouest-France, the esplanade of General de Gaulle, where the rally was organized, had been transformed into a rave, some participants even dispensing with masks.
This Saturday, the police had to intervene to evacuate the square - and prevent history from repeating itself - when the “chirkers” managed to install a sound barrier, despite a prefectural ban.

In recent days, the "chirps" have also been heard in other events, in other cities of France, such as Nantes (Loire-Atlantique), Tours (Indre-et-Loire), Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) , Toulon (Var), Bordeaux (Gironde) or elsewhere in Brittany, as in Lorient (Morbihan).
"If anyone has to take, it's all of us"
The demonstrators deplore the fate of the organizers of the Lieuron rave party.
Nine people are indicted and placed under judicial supervision in this case.
A 22-year-old man, imprisoned for 18 days, was released on Friday.

It was so hard, we needed to get away from it all.
