The odds were bad, very bad.
One in 303 million to be precise.
And yet it worked for a previously unknown gambler: A person from the state of Michigan cracked the US Lottery Mega Millions.
For his lottery ticket with the six numbers 4, 26, 42, 50, 60, 24 he or she will now receive 739.6 million US dollars (around 608 million euros).
It was the only one with six numbers, the lottery announced on Saturday morning on its website.
In total, the pot was filled with one billion US dollars.
The second largest jackpot in Mega Millions history.
If you include the Powerball lottery, the prize ranks third.
Because on January 13, 2016, $ 1.586 billion in prize money was up for grabs.
Back then, however, there were three main prizes.
