The head of the corona, Prof. Nachman Ash, is currently holding a briefing (Monday) following the spread of the new strains of the corona virus throughout the country.

The briefing was scheduled to take place yesterday, but was postponed following the lengthening of the cabinet meeting held yesterday.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Ash referred to the outlines that are emerging from the quarantine and said that they depend on the level of morbidity.

He said, "We will recommend a limited outline if the level of morbidity does not fall. The second option is a broad outline that will allow a greater opening of the economy."

At the same time, the Ministry of Health has published new data regarding the spread of the disease, collected by the NEURA company, and concerning public observance of corona guidelines.

According to data collected by the company, there is a loosening of public discipline regarding Corona's guidelines.

Earlier, the ministry published the disease data in Israel, and presented a gloomy picture.

According to the data, so far in January, more than 1,000 people have died from the virus, 58 of them in the last day.

According to the ministry, the number of respirators in January peaked at 339, the highest number since the outbreak, and those connected to the Akmo device reached 31.

It was also reported that during yesterday about 54,000 corona tests were conducted across the country, and 4,868 people were diagnosed as positive, with the rate of positive tests standing at 9.3%.

The total number of active patients in the country is 70,836.

Health Minister Yuli Edelstein updated that yesterday 200,000 more people were vaccinated in the country.

In total, more than 3.7 million vaccine doses have been given to date.

More than 2.5 million have already been vaccinated in the first vaccine dose and more than a million in the second dose as well.

Edelstein added that "this is the way to defeat the virus."

According to data from the Ministry of Health, close to 30 percent of the entire State of Israel was vaccinated against corona in the first dose, while the second dose was received by about 12 percent.
