(ANSA) - LONDON, JANUARY 25 - Travel from the United Kingdom to abroad, in the absence of specific "justifications" such as hypothetical medical needs, are currently "illegal" based on lockdown. This was stated by Matt Hancock, Minister of Health of the government of Boris Johnson, in today's briefing on the Covid emergency. Asked about the hypothesis that the Tory government was considering imposing on those entering the country, in addition to a negative test, a monitored quarantine in the hotel, Hancock then took time; but he cautioned that "border cautions are incredibly important" at this stage, to avoid the transmission of new variants of the virus from abroad.
