Curly Fries are the french fries dream of every fast food fan.

You not only get them to buy, you can also make them yourself.

Here is the recipe.

Do you or your children love curly fries, the ringed variant of french fries *?

Then we have good news: You no longer have to go out in the cold and go to the nearest fast food chain to get the fried potato treats.

No, you can

just make curly fries yourself

.

They actually contain the same ingredients as normal fries, but somehow they taste different and more delicious in the “curly” version.

There are different versions of

recipes for curly fries

: Most of the time you should cut the potatoes

in spirals

and then bake them in the oven or in the deep fryer.

But this recipe is even smarter: first you prepare a

mashed potato batter

and then use a piping bag or freezer bag to shape spinning tops that you deep-fry in a pan.

The result is a little bigger than the Curly Fries from McDonalds and Co. - but bigger is better in this case, right?

Curly Fries Recipe: How to Make Crispy Spiral Fries

  • First peel the

    potatoes

and cook them in plenty of salted water until soft.

Then mash the potatoes as finely as possible with a potato masher.

  • Beat the

    egg

in a bowl and whisk it with a whisk.

  • Add the egg,

    potato starch

    ,

    parmesan

    ,

    milk

    ,

    pepper

    and

    paprika powder

to the mashed potatoes and mix everything well.

  • Put a

    piping bag

in a tall container so that it can be filled better - alternatively a

    freezer

    bag

    in

which you cut off a corner so that a hole about 15 mm is created.

  • Fill the potato batter into the piping bag.

Lay out a piece of baking paper and practice using the piping bag to make a circular shape: starting from the center, always in a circle that gets bigger.

  • Heat the

    frying fat

    or

    oil

    on the stove

    in a pan

    .

It is enough if the bottom of the pan is about 1 cm covered with oil.

You can tell that the oil is hot enough when bubbles rise from a wooden spoon handle that you hold in it.

  • Using the piping bag, add

    potato dough circles

to the pan as you have practiced.

    Proceed evenly and quickly.

  • Fry the

    curly fries over

medium heat, then turn and finish cooking until golden brown.

  • Lift out the finished curly fries and let them degrease on a kitchen towel.

  • Ketchup, mayonnaise or another dip goes well with it.

If you want the full fast food program, you can serve it with burgers, sausages or chicken nuggets.
