(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 25 - The Italian Ambassador to Iran, Giuseppe Perrone, hosted today in residence the presentation event of a project of documentation and collection of historiographical and architectural material on 340 buildings in Teheran, some of which are registered in the list of the country's cultural heritage and UNESCO heritage (Golestan Palace).


    The project, which resulted in the publication of the book "La miaTeheran" by Amir Reza Farahbod, has as its main purpose the enhancement of the artistic and cultural heritage of the Iranian capital in view of its further promotion.

The Italian residence, it is emphasized in a note from the embassy, ​​plays a fundamental role in the project as an example of fine art of the Qajara era and guardian of an eight-hectare Persian garden, one of the rarest and most original examples of Persian gardens still present in the city of Teheran.


    Perrone, at the opening of the presentation of the project, underlined the continuous commitment of Italy to safeguard the garden of Farmanieh, enhancing its unique historical and architectural heritage, and placing it at the center of cultural events promoted by the Italian Embassy.


    The meeting was also attended by the President of the Municipal Council of Tehran, Mohsen Hashemi Rafsanjani, who underlined the depth of the research behind the project and expressed the hope that, in the new phase that is about to open in international relations, there will be a further deepening of relations between Italy and Iran, which has defined historical and particularly intense.


    "My Teheran" is the result of a work of about 10 years carried out by the architect Farahbod in collaboration with the municipality of Tehran, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Crafts of the Islamic Republic of Iran, experts and researchers from the University of Tehran.
