This was stated by the president of the ECB, Christine Lagarde, at the Davos Agenda 2021 after having anticipated that "the growth in the fourth quarter, for the Eurozone, is negative".
Lagarde reiterated that the ECB "will be (buyer, ed.) On the market for a long time, to ensure favorable financial conditions" for as long as necessary: the firepower actually used by the Pepp pandemic buying program, set at 1,850 billion euros , "can be lower" if financial conditions improve sooner than expected, "but also higher" if necessary.
