Recent Israeli police series do not follow the standard line of police officers against thieves, but follow the plot line of police officers who are promoted and act as the last of the criminals.
Last night, the "police" made a request and it tells the story of Alon Sharabi (Tzachi Halevi), an outstanding detective officer from the Tel Aviv district who arrives in Nahariya, his hometown, and discovers that the station is helpless in front of a local criminal who rules fear and terror in the city.
Nahariya was not chosen by chance.
The inspiration for the series came from the "Avengers" affair from 2006, when policemen from Nahariya placed explosives in the car and at the home of the criminal Michael Moore, in revenge for throwing grenades into their homes and threats on their lives.
Tzachi Halevi is tailor-made for such roles, and it seems to come easily to him. Shani Cohen is very convincing as his wife, and it seems that she is finally happy to do a role that is not comical. The first episode was tight and quickly got us into the plot, sending arms to subplots that would develop later. The "policemen" go on the air when the general atmosphere on the street is hot and there is often criticism of the functioning of the police. The timing and issues the series touches on are interesting, so its potential is high.
