Four robbers are said to have sucked around 57,000 euros with a vacuum cleaner from a safe in a supermarket robbery.
One of them has now been convicted by the regional court in Mosbach, Baden-Württemberg, for serious robbery in unity with willful bodily harm.
According to the Chamber, the 30-year-old and his accomplices raided the market in Tauberbischofsheim at the end of 2019.
According to the indictment, he had held a gun up to the cashier and tied her up, and he had also helped steal the money from the safe.
The court has now sentenced him to four years and six months in prison.
Support from the supermarket
The man testified at the trial that he brought the vacuum cleaner to the crime scene.
An accomplice who was head of the supermarket at the time had the idea.
Originally only a fictitious attack was planned.
A second accomplice also worked in the supermarket and was informed about the criminal project.
A fourth perpetrator is said to have driven the getaway car.
From the point of view of the public prosecutor's office, the assault was carried out in a division of labor, with three defendants supposedly acting at the scene and the fourth - the store manager at the time - supposedly planning the act.
He did not know that the cashier was in the supermarket, said the now convicted man.
According to the charges, he tied her so roughly with cable ties that she was injured.
No trial dates have yet been set for the other three defendants, aged between 25 and 29.
The verdict is not yet legally binding.
