Covid: decrease in intensive care, but 10,593 positives and 541 deaths

There are 10,593 new cases of Covid-19 in Italy in the last 24 hours. The victims are 541, according to data from the Ministry of Health. Yesterday there were 8,561 positives and 420 dead. Today 257,034 molecular and antigenic tests were carried out. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - ROME, JANUARY 26 - There are 10,593 new cases of Covid-19 in Italy in the last 24 hours.

The victims are 541, according to data from the Ministry of Health.

Yesterday the positives were 8,561 and the dead 420.


    Today 257,034 molecular and antigenic tests were carried out.


   Yesterday, according to data from the Ministry of Health, there were 143,116, about 114,000 fewer.

The positivity rate is 4.1% (yesterday it was 5.98%, so it is down by 1.9%).


    Intensive care admissions are falling again: there are 49 less in the balance between entries and exits compared to yesterday. According to data from the Ministry of Health, the daily admissions to intensive care are 162. In total there are 2,372 people in intensive care for Covid-19. On the other hand, 21,355 patients are hospitalized in the ordinary wards, also in this case 69 units down compared to yesterday.


    The total cases since the beginning of the epidemic are now 2,485,956, the deaths 86,422. The current positives are 482,417, down 9,213 compared to yesterday. On the other hand, 1,917,117 discharged patients recovered, with an increase of 19,256 units in the last 24 hours. There are 458,690 people in home isolation (-9,095 compared to yesterday).
