(ANSA) - ROME, JANUARY 26 - The general assembly of Federalberghi, met in extraordinary session, approved a petition addressed to political forces, "to invite the new Government to intervene urgently to protect businesses and tourism workers before it is too late ".

Even individual entrepreneurs, workers and citizens can add their signature by signing the online petition on the change.org platform.


   Bernabò Bocca, president of Federalberghi, after having underlined "the importance that tourism has for the Italian economy, recalls the devastating damage suffered by the receptive structures due to the pandemic, with a loss of tourist flows and turnover of more than 50%", lists the interventions main requested by hoteliers: - recognition of effective refreshments, which restore equity for the year 2020 and accompany companies also in the months to come; - interventions on liquidity (extension of mortgage payments and granting of twenty-year loans); - exemption for 2021 from payment of taxes (first of all, Imu, Tari and Rai license fees); - support for rented companies for the payment of the rent; - reduction of the VAT rate to 5% in analogy with what happened in other European countries; - recognition of contribution relief for companies that call staff into service; - income support for workers who remain unemployed or suspended ".
