Marina Maximilian has used the past year to work on a new album, in Hebrew.
If already closed at home and no performances, then at least create new materials.
She is now releasing a new song from the upcoming album, "Mom," which she co-wrote and composed with her partner and the father of her two daughters, Guy Menach.
And if you thought the song was about Maximilian's own mothers, then the accompanying clip makes it clear that she is actually talking about her mother and not herself.
The clip incorporates photos of Maximilian and her mother, Ella, from the family photo album.
"The corona brought with it the understanding of how important the home and place we came from are," says Maximilian.
"I'm very attached to my family, and that song just came out of me. On the piano it sounded introverted, but in the studio it really happened magic. When the song was ready, I just waited to play it to Mom. After it happened we cried and hugged. I really want to give her strength. , Even more in this period, which reminds us how important the health and quality of life of the people most dear to us. This is a music and art festival that will be broadcast live on February 12 from Reading Hall 3 in Tel Aviv.
As part of the festival, Marina promises to "provide the audience with a cultural experience that combines a movie, a clip, a fun visit to the museum, a performance of music and dance and a peek behind the scenes."
According to Maximilian, "Already in 'A Star Is Born', 14 years ago, I was a terrible anomaly in the landscape. They were constantly trying to minimize my anomalies, so that they could swallow me. From a supportive place, of course, allow me to realize the potential. How do two artists get along in this difficult time?
"As someone whose family immigrated to Israel without a penny, I know periods that save more. Reduce and make a living in creative ways, do what is possible. I have an attitude of thank God it is not a war but a virus, and try to look good. My parents have already started getting vaccinated."
And what is it like to work spouse?
"I'm dying for it. It's not just hard for me to find a music producer for many years. It should fit like a pairing from heaven. It's someone who takes your most personal piece and is supposed to give birth to a world, and I'm happy to do it with Guy. It's our time together "It's both romantic and we're both concerned about what we both like best."
