In order to get the SARS-CoV-2 infections under control in Germany over the long term, the federal government has launched a
new Corona occupational health and safety

The SARS-CoV-2 Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance states that employees must always
wear a face
mask at work

more than one person per 10 square meters
stays longer
in a room

minimum distance of 1.50 meters
cannot be maintained or if

increased aerosol emission is
to be expected
at work
(
e.g.
because one has to speak very loudly).
However, employers can also take similar protective measures, such as
setting up partitions
between workplaces.
In this case there is no mask requirement.
Surgical mask, FFP2 mask: What kind of face mask do I have to wear at work?
So far, a mouth and nose cover, also known as a community mask, has been sufficient at the workplace.
The new SARS-CoV-2 Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance now stipulates that at least one
medical face mask
(surgical mask, FFP2 mask or comparable respiratory protection mask) must be worn.
This must be
made available
by the
employer
.
However, the employer can also set stricter regulations, in which he prescribes FFP2 masks in the workplace.
